During the 2009 preseason, the Pacers experienced a week-long trip to the Far East that included exhibition games with the Denver Nuggets in Taipei, Taiwan, and Beijing, China. Former President Bill Clinton described Melvin Simon as one of the most remarkable people he's ever met as he gave a eulogy at the funeral for the shopping mall Pacers co-owner, who passed away in September 2009.
